Action-packed day from the get-go! Took Anoosha out for an October afternoon hunt down in Florida City, and the partly cloudy skies made for perfect conditions. We headed out around 1:00 pm with Ray Chaters for what turned out to be a solid brush hunting adventure!
Once the stage was set, we mixed up our approach with drive hunting through the thick cover, then switched over to still hunting when we found some promising sign. The stand hunting really paid off later in the afternoon!! Florida City's diverse terrain gives us plenty of options to work different techniques depending on what the day brings.
We didn't notch a tag on this hunt, but every hour in the field was worth it. Got to work some great country and the weather stayed cooperative throughout. Sometimes you get skunked but that's just part of it - can't let a little buck fever get to ya!
If y'all are thinking about getting out for some serious brush hunting action, our hunted ground trips with Ray Chaters offer the perfect setup for working Florida City's backcountry. We cover a lot of ground using drive hunting, still hunting, and stand hunting techniques that really produce results in this area. The October season is prime time and our afternoon hunts let you sleep in while still getting quality field time. Whether you're new to hunting or been at it for years, we'll put you on game and show you why this country produces. Give us a call and let's get you booked!
