One for the books today! Nick and I headed out this fall afternoon with partly cloudy skies and storms brewing on the horizon, perfect conditions for a brush hunting trip here in Florida with Ray Chaters.
With our gear rigged and ready, we focused on still hunting through the thick brush, moving slow and quiet through gator country. The afternoon hunt paid off when we spotted a nice white-tailed deer, and Nick made a clean shot! The dense Florida brush can be tricky, but that's exactly why this area works so well for still hunting - plenty of cover and natural deer corridors.
We switched between still hunting and some brush beating as the afternoon rolled on, working the thick cover methodically. Nick didn't get buck fever when it counted, and we wrapped up the hunt with smiles all around! The backcountry delivered exactly what we hoped for.
If y'all are thinking about a Florida hunting adventure, our hunted ground trips with Ray Chaters offer some of the best brush hunting opportunities in the state! We know these Florida woods inside and out, from the thick palmetto patches to the oak hammocks where deer love to bed down. Whether you're after your first deer or looking to fill another tag, our afternoon and evening hunts give you the best shot at success. The fall season here is prime time - cooler weather gets the deer moving, and our still hunting approach lets us cover ground while staying quiet. Book your brush hunting trip and experience what real Florida hunting is all about!
