Non-stop bites all day long! Anoosha and their crew joined me for an afternoon hunt this September, and we had perfect conditions to work with. The partly cloudy skies with some rain rolling through made for ideal hunting weather in Florida. We started our brush hunting trip right at 1:00 pm with Ray Chaters.
Once the stage was set, we focused on still hunting and drive hunting techniques that work so well in this gator country terrain. The crew of three stayed sharp as we moved through the thick cover, switching between ambush hunting when the conditions called for it. Florida's diverse landscape gives us plenty of options for these techniques, and the afternoon timing worked perfectly with the weather patterns we were seeing.
We didn't notch a tag on this hunt, but every hour in the field was worth it! The rain kept things cool and the wildlife active, which made for some great opportunities to practice our skills. Y'all know how it goes sometimes - that's just hunting, and we had a blast working the area despite getting skunked this time around.
If you're thinking about booking a brush hunting adventure with Ray Chaters here in Florida, our hunted ground offers some of the best opportunities for still hunting and drive hunting techniques. We work the backcountry areas where the terrain gives us natural advantages for ambush hunting setups. Our afternoon hunts take full advantage of Florida's wildlife patterns, and even when the tags stay empty, you'll learn techniques that'll serve you well on future hunts. The September season brings great weather conditions, and our three-person limit keeps the group size perfect for moving quietly through thick cover. Book your next hunting adventure with us and experience what Florida hunting is all about!
