Exciting alligator hunting adventure at Butler Beach using various techniques despite afternoon rain.
Hot bite and happy crew! San and their crew joined me for a late morning hunt during August here in Florida, NY. The weather started clear but clouds rolled in by afternoon with rain threatening. We had perfect conditions early on for our Hunt with Ray adventure through Ray Chaters.
With our gear rigged and ready, we focused on spot-and-stalk and still hunting techniques throughout the morning. The crew tagged an American Alligator, White-tailed Deer, and picked up some Mallard too! Florida, NY gives us that perfect mix of terrain for these hunting styles - plenty of cover for still-hunting and open areas where spot-and-stalk really pays off.
The rain started falling just as we wrapped up, but by then we'd already had our success! Every tag got filled and the crew had a blast working different techniques. Even with the weather turning on us, it was game on from start to finish down in gator country.
