Action-packed day from the get-go! Sanjana and I headed out this summer late morning with partly cloudy skies and storms brewing on the horizon. The weather kept things interesting as we worked the Florida terrain looking for white-tailed deer. Ray Chaters put together another solid hunt with our Mournful Dirge package.
With our gear rigged and ready, we started with some still hunting to cover ground quietly. The spot-and-stalk approach worked well when we picked up movement, and we used stand hunting during the slower periods. Florida's mixed habitat gives us plenty of options to switch between techniques as conditions change.
We managed to connect with a nice white-tailed deer using the still hunting method. The diverse Florida landscape really shines for this type of hunting since you can adapt your approach based on what the deer are doing. We wrapped up the hunt with smiles all around!
If you're looking to get after some white-tailed deer here in Florida, our hunting trips offer solid opportunities to use multiple techniques. We run still hunting, stand hunting, and spot-and-stalk methods depending on conditions and what's working best. The Mournful Dirge package gives you a full day to work different areas and approaches. Florida's terrain provides excellent camouflage hunting opportunities year-round, and we know the spots that produce consistently. Ray Chaters has been guiding these waters and woods for years, and we'll put you on deer using proven methods that work in our local conditions.
