Action-packed day from the get-go! Sachin and I headed out in the early morning hours this winter, hitting the water before dawn with perfect conditions at Butler Beach. The morning started clear and calm, though we knew clouds were rolling in for the afternoon. Water conditions at Butler Beach were looking good for what we had planned - a solid inshore rock fishing adventure with Ray Chaters!
Once the stage was set, we focused our efforts on rock fishing and bottom fishing techniques, working the structure with some jigging mixed in. The African Pompano made their presence known, and we managed to connect with these hard-fighting fish around the rocky areas. Butler Beach is perfect for this kind of inshore action - the structure holds bait and the pompano cruise through looking for an easy meal. We wrapped up the trip with great smiles and tight lines all around!
If y'all are thinking about getting out on the water for some serious inshore action, Butler Beach offers some of the best rock fishing opportunities you'll find. Our Rock Sea trips with Ray Chaters target these productive areas where the bottom structure holds fish year-round. Whether you're working jigs around the rocks or bottom fishing the deeper pockets, this area consistently produces. The winter months can be especially productive as baitfish stack up around the structure and predators like African Pompano move in to feed. We run early morning trips to beat the afternoon weather changes and put you on fish when the bite is hot. Come fish with us and experience what makes Butler Beach such a special place for inshore fishing - the combination of structure, current, and hungry fish makes every trip an adventure worth taking!
