We had a great day out on the water with Krushna, kicking off our Rock Sea trip with Ray Chaters bright and early at 4:00 am from Florida Florida. June's a fantastic time for inshore fishing around Butler Beach, with the warmer waters bringing in plenty of fish close to shore. The weather was on our side, with clear conditions throughout the day, making for some excellent sight casting opportunities. We were fishing the Kaveri River Basin, which always offers up some interesting challenges and rewards.
As we got started, we mixed things up with live bait fishing, sight casting, and drift fishing to cover all our bases. The Brook Trout were biting, which was a nice surprise for an inshore trip in Florida. These fish can be tricky, but Krushna did a great job working the live bait and staying patient. We spent a good chunk of the morning drifting along some promising spots, keeping our eyes peeled for any signs of fish activity on the surface.
Throughout the day, we moved around quite a bit, trying different spots in the river basin. The clear conditions really helped with our sight casting efforts, letting us spot fish and make accurate casts. Krushna picked up the technique quickly, and we had some exciting moments when the fish would strike. Even though we didn't land any monsters, the steady action kept things interesting. That's the beauty of these inshore trips - you never know what you might hook into next.
