Nice silver catch at Butler Beach today!
One for the books today! Raymond and his friends joined us for a summer late evening backcountry fishing trip down by the glades. The weather started decent but turned cloudy in the afternoon with late afternoon rain rolling in over Butler Beach waters. Despite the changing conditions, we had tight lines and kept our spirits high throughout the trip!
Once the stage was set, we worked multiple techniques to keep the action going. Started with fly fishing in the shallows, then switched over to spin casting when the conditions changed, and finished up with some solid bait fishing. Raymond and his crew picked up Black Drum, Northern Pike, and Chinook Salmon throughout the day! Florida NY's backcountry waters are perfect for this kind of mixed-technique approach - the variety of structure and depths let us adapt as conditions shifted. We wrapped up with great smiles all around, even with that afternoon rain trying to slow us down!
The backcountry fishing here in Florida NY offers some of the most diverse angling opportunities you'll find anywhere. Whether you're looking to work the flats with fly gear, cast spinners along the structure, or settle in with bait fishing, these waters hold incredible variety. Our backcountry trips target everything from Black Drum cruising the shallows to Northern Pike ambushing in the deeper cuts, plus the bonus Chinook Salmon that make these waters special. The test jite experience gives y'all the full range - we'll adapt techniques based on what the fish are telling us and what the conditions allow. If you're thinking about getting out on the water for some serious backcountry action, this is the spot to do it right!
